We are Clevelanders

Rustbelt is proud to fabricate quality custom furniture from both local and unique wood species found within 200 miles of our Cleveland, Ohio workshop located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie. Embodying the essence of American-made excellence, we take pride in our Midwest roots, where our work ethic and innovative spirit runs deep. We design and build in a former manufacturing space that was founded in 1872 while keeping a modern view of sustainability front and center. In a disposable world, we embrace the philosophy that products should be built to last, not thrown away.

100 Years of Experience

We design, prototype and build in-house to produce custom solutions for elite hospitality, commercial and residential clients. A close-knit team of makers with a combined 100 years of experience develops and applies innovative engineering solutions to build heirloom-quality products by hand that are designed to endure for generations, striking the perfect balance between past and future.

56 Years in the Making

Our furniture enhances spectacular projects from Maine to Hawaii. Established in 1970, our longevity is driven by always learning and adapting to our customers’ individual and specialized needs. From our century old planer to our state-of-the-art CNC, we make pieces with the quality of the past, while meeting the demands of our fast-paced world.

We are more than a team, we are a group of friends who share a passion for furniture. The workshop around here does not clear out at closing time, we can be found around the shop, discussing projects and practices. Our free time is spent making furniture for our own homes, building props for schools, learning traditional timber framing or going to auctions in search of old tools and materials. We are made up of craftsman with undergrad and masters in the field, along with those taught traditionally by a master carpenter. We love what we do, and we like who we do it with.

“We believe our designs should be as sustainable as humanly possible; that’s why all pieces created by Rustbelt are crafted entirely within the United States utilizing locally sourced materials.”
